About

Hey there! I’m Jason Bakker, a game developer from Australia. My day job is designing and programming games at Wicked Witch Software, and by the glow of the moon and the glare of the dawn I program, design and write on both group and personal indie projects. You can contact me at jason.bakker@gmail.com.

To be fair, it was the first time I’d played

Over the past few years I’ve worked on a bunch of games at Wicked Witch from 360 side-scrollers to DS rhythm games (both projects alluded to are sadly in development limbo). Games I’ve worked on that have actually been released include the football-themed platforming DS games (AFL Mascot Manor and NRL Mascot Mania) and Spacechimps for the 360/Wii/PS2. I spent most of 2010 working as gameplay designer/programmer on AFL Wii, then pretty well all of 2011-2012 as lead programmer/designer on Catapult King.

For much of my spare time in 2009 and 2010 I worked with Ban Ngo and Alex Andreadis on Shadow Field, a pretty cool tactical strategy game for the iPhone. Unfortunately we realized the scope of the game was such that it would take us about a decade to finish, and so we’ve suspended development for the foreseeable future. (If you want to see a video of where we got up to, there’s one here.)

Currently I’m working on some (smaller!) game prototypes. Stay tuned for more info!

    Hi Jason
I was wondering if you would be interested in showcasing Shadowfield at CGBC 2011 in July?

We spoke at Freeplay last year

    Regards,

    Andrew Owen
